Got my first frag, frogspawn, and I've dipped, acclimated, and put it in a temporary spot in my tank. Today it's fully extended, two heads of it.
My question is what is the deal with the giant stick it's attached to? Is that whole thing alive? I know other corals come on frag plugs and can be removed from those plugs and glued down once a location is chosen. My frogspawn's stick (for lack of a better word) is huge. I don't like how it looks at all, sticking up off of that. Am I supposed to hide the stick down inside the crevice of a rock? Is all of it alive or am I supposed to cut some of it off? Mine looks like it used to have 3 heads at one point, but the third died (before I got it). I don't have many large holes in my rockscape to stick a giant stick inside of.
Attached a photo. Bonus photo of my clown being an attention seeking nut and getting in the way of my taking photos.

the part just below the head of the coral where it looks like a piece was broken off is just that
