Frogspawn growths???

What are the little white growths stick out of my frogspawn

Good stuff.
Looks ugly but if you get your spawns to thrive you won't see them any more.
 
It looks like a combination of Vermetid snails, Spionid worms, Foraminiferans and a Serpulid worm. (that elongated white tube)
 
Dips won't hurt the vermetids. I typically get after them with needle-nose pliers. You have to crush the base, because they can withdraw pretty far. They let out strands of mucus to catch food. You may notice some spider web looking things when you feed.

Reducing food in the column will starve them back. I used to have hundreds, but now I am down to dozens. I suspect it's part of a tank maturing, like a cyano bloom or diatoms.
 
I was thinking about fragging that triple stick into single frags anyway, so maybe that will help get rid of most of that stuff. It will be going in my 30 rimless soon. So I wanted to break it up to spread the heads out a little. I guess as long as they're not detrimental, I won't worry about it too much and just progress on as planned
