Frogspawn mouth stretching

Maybe a stupid question, but I am having some issues with my water parameters, and I haven’t seen this in my other euphyllia…

Is this guy dying, splitting, or just acting normal?

parameters:
pH 7.7
Nitrate 19.4 (taking steps to reduce slightly)
Phosphate 0.0 (just started dosing neophos)
Alk 7.5
Cal 480
Mag 1400
Tank is 9 months old.
This coral has been in tank 4 months.

Is it getting worse? Better? Same?
It's generally not a problem to see a coral's guts for a brief period (although I usually see this more with things like mushrooms), but usually only lasts an hour or so.

Was the coral recently moved or injured?

I don't see a huge issue with your parameters... What are temp and salinity? Have any params change significantly recently? What are you doing to reduce nitrates? (I don't think you actually need to reduce them...)

Temp is 77.5
Salinity 1.026
I’m just adjusting feeding and filtersock maintenance to bring down nitrates. Nothing major.
it’s not gotten any worse, looked the same today as it did yesterday.
Nothings changed parameter-wise that I have noticed, except pH is a little lower than usual.

What other coral are in the tank? Any leathers or toadstools?

I mentioned in my original post that I was have some water parameter issues, I don’t really know what the problem is, but calcium and alkalinity have been at a standstill, like zero consumption over the past few weeks.

Shrooms
Other frogspawn
Hammers
Torch
Anacropora
Purple stylo
Clove polyps
Zoas
Probably a few more I can’t think of at

Toadstools and leathers like it, often spew chemicals into the water column that can hinder growth and annoy/kill other corals… this can be counter acted by activated carbon and water changes

But for my 2 cents…

your dkh is a little low, IMO most corals like 8-11.. but 7.5 isn’t terrible. It’s good to see you’re dosing P04…

now the water quality might not be the issue here. Did you change anything about your lighting??? Replace any bulbs? Adjust spectrums?
Or maybe have you added anything new???

I haven’t made any lighting changes that we’re temporary. Like a short photo mode.

I can slowly bring the dkh up to a more ideal level

A gaping mouth and mesenterial filaments (the white stuff in the center) happen when a coral is hungry or stressed. This has happened to my frogspawns multiple times due to chemical warfare from my leather corals. Stress can come from many factors, including non-ideal parameters, poor locations, stinging from corals, etc. If this is a water quality or leather chemical issue, the best solution is large water changes to correct the conditions. Wouldn’t hurt to feed the frogspawns a little bit too after it recovers.
