I just recently purchased a bi color frogspawn and it arrived today. I put it in my tank and it looks good but in the center I see these white lines and don't know if this is normal or not. My other frogspawn doesn't look like this ever so if someone has an answer please let me know. Here are sum pics of what I'm talking about.

are the white lines part of the polyps? It's hard to tell in these pics.

Yea I think it is. When it is all the way in or recede it looks like it is the center of the frogspawn body like the skeleton. I just haven't seen one look like that before especially with the polyps somewhat out.

Ima watch this one also, I've not seen this before. It looks like a starfish is sitting there.

Sumthin else that is different is how the stalk looks compared to my other frogspawn frag I purchase a few months ago. Here is a pic of it

. I don't have a better pic right now but when I get back home ill take one. My old frag looks like the stalk has something like bark that is on a tree on it but the new frag looks slick or like it has been skinned or sumthin. Is that normal?

No not normal. Looks like something had at it when it was growing, or alk, cal was messed up.

That's part of the skeleton showing. Leave it in the tank and leave it alone and give it time to expand. Do you know all of your water parameters?

Just did my water change but tested last Sunday and everything was ok except my mag was little low at 1140

I agree. If the rest of the coral is coming out, it will probably just be a bit of time for it to recover.

What brand of salt are you using? A good reef salt should handle mag until you get into heavy stony corals and clams. Either that or the test is inaccurate.

The salt I had was old and I humidity got a hold of it but I remedied this problem. Oh yea it was instant ocean sea salt not reef salt but going to Red Sea coral pro now on out unless I start hearing bad things about it.

I would just leave it alone - unless you are worried about pests. As others have said it's likely stressed from the move (not necessarily tissue recession). Give it a few days. The skeleton is just built up there because it was likely getting ready to split before it was fraged.

Skeleton showing. It's normal when they pull all the way in like that. Just put it in one spot and don't bother it. It will swell up eventually.
