I’ve always had success mid to lower tank

my octo and torch are just below mid way in the tank and doing great

I have a 90 gallon corner it’s about 30” tall

Wow stunning tank! I have 7 frags right now. Which is the lps that is growing better and giving the best results in terms of growth and colors?

My blasto’s seem happy

my hammers seem just stagnant but boxed in by mushroom corals

my lobo seems very happy

have not been able to get acans ever to live-but wondering if my coral beauty picked at it

I have about 25 LPS corals in my reef, including Euphylias (hammers and frogspawns). I’d put frogspawns somewhere between hammers and torches on the hardiness scale, but they’re not especially difficult to keep. Moderately hardy.

I’ve found they do best in something like 75-125 PAR. So middle to lower portion of most tanks. Definitely so if you have Radions. I’d suggest starting them on the bottom and taking a few weeks to acclimate them to more intense LED lighting.

Moderate flow. Enough to keep the detritus off them, but not so much that the flesh is being pressed against the skeleton. I broadcast feed my tank zooplankton twice a week, and my Euphylias always look perkier afterwards.

Good luck.

Yes

didnt want to believe my beauty is the problem

But only rational answer i can find

My frog spawn is over 5 years old.
It was in my 25 nano then my 120 and now my 45 frag system. The clown has been with it the whole time.
Low to medium flow with high light in my 12" tall frag system.
Its about 5" from the surface and over 20 heads. I run a 250 watt 14k halide.

Lower third of tank but not on sandbed. Frogspawn coral requires Stable tank conditions, and is intolerant to major swings in water quality, and is sensitive to almost any level of copper in the water. Since they are a large polyp stony coral, calcium and alkalinity are two very important water parameters that will affect the growth of your coral. This coral will start to die off if the calcium levels are too low. A calcium level of about 400 ppm is just right.
This coral species isn’t terribly picky when it comes to the proper placement in your tank. The trick would really be just to avoid the extremes. Avoid extremely bright locations or areas of very high current, and avoid areas that are too dark or with currents that are too low. Fast currents risk damaging the soft, fleshy polyps (and getting an infection). Bright lights will cause bleaching. Insufficient lighting will cause the poor coral to wither away and starve to death.
Hammer corals only require a moderate amount of light for photosynthesis and can grow well in the intermediate regions of your tank. Just about any reef LED lighting should be sufficient for most tanks. Reduce white light intensity and get it off the sand bed which sand can irritate it.
The polyps should sway in the current, but not sustain so much pressure they are constantly bent over their skeleton. Too much flow will tear the polyps (worst case) and cause the polyps do not extend in the first place (best case). So, don’t give them too much flow.
Feed it mysis shrimp 2-3X per week

I just moved my hammer from the sand to the rockwork because it started to have some tissue receding. Maybe that was the reason..

Do you turn off pumps for feeding

(Sorry for hijacking the thread!)

I dont turn off pumps and target feed. If you want to suspend feed, you can turn pumps off for 5-10 mins

I had unhappy coral in the sand too and elevated them 3" up and now have this:
