Has anyone had any experience with Frogspawn tips separating from colony? Every once in a while I'll see one floating in tank currents. Colony looks healthy and full daily and is growing another head. Sal .026/ph 8/cal450/alk 8.7/mag 1400/amm and nitrite 0/nitrate 1-2/ phosphate 0. No crabs of any kind in tank. TIA

Everything looks to be in check for the most part. If anything bring up the Phosphates slightly to about .25 -.5. Is their alot of direct flow on the FS to make the ployps tear and fall off?

This seems to happen to mine as well. I will see one random speck floating around. Otherwise, everything looks good, and I can't even tell where the spec came from. Could be hermits or fish or something entirely different.

As long as everything is inflated and looking healthy, I don't worry about too much. I'm sure it happens in the open ocean as well, and I figure it's not a big deal if it happens infrequently.

All indirect flow and all EUPHILLIA seem happy. Other than removing gfo how would you raise phosphate?

Thanks everyone. Never thought about how EUPHILLIA colonize naturally. Glad to know there's no issue since all of mine have been growing steadily

Mine tend to let of tentacle tips when at war with something. They let out sweepers and when the wars dome tips break off. Same happens when growing new tentacles while splitting. Ita normal. Never had an issue with them doing this. Nor have my other corals had issues with the floating pieces.
