frogspawn

Hard to tell in the pics but it looks kind of deflated. Mine actually closed compleyely once and I thought it was dead. Nope. When it reopened it was much bigger and brighter. Broadcast feed over it and make sire it isn't getting too much light or directly in front of a powerhead. The like medium flow and medium light.
the lite is only moonlite or 2%blues in this pics and sorry just the lil smartphone pics

I mean is the lighting t5, led, a combo for example? What is the lighting like during the day? How far is it under the light? If it puffed up more it may not be getting enough light. But only bring up the light a little at a time. And they do shrink at night normally. Never heard of the food you're giving it. That doesn't mean it isn't good though. I feed mine a mix of ground sea food with phytoplankton in it

just leds the reefbreeder photon48,and i probly misspelled the name on the food.

The only difference is the octospawn has many more dots and are paler in color than the brighter frogspawn. They all prefer a meaty food but don't have to be fed. However, they seem to grow better when fed.

o the light stats low and reeves up to like 35% at midday and bck down, and the fixture is about 10inch off the top of the tank.

It may need a little more light also. Rather than ramping up your lights, try moving him up a little once a week in the tank. If he does betterthen you know its the lights and you should move it back down and ramp up the lights slowly

One more thing. When feeding, give it extra time than the usual 10 minutes. Make sure it has calm water and that it will have time to ingeste the food.

lfs said frogspawn, but i think it could be the other it seems to have more dots when it opens during the day.

i well get a couple more pics up in the daylight setting soon to show u guys. This is a great site and thanx for all the fast replies im new to keeping coral an well need help along the way and this seems to be the place for it.

You should also do your own testing. My best advice would be to go on ebay and order red sea reef foundations test kit. This test kit is for Ca, Mg and Kh. The most important things to test for. Api kit is ok for amonia, nitrite, nitrates and ph.

It's 3am here and I'm going to go now. I think it'll be fine :) Just work with the lighting and food. Make sure your parameters are good and it will work out. Post back here and let us know how it goes :)

It is frogspawn. Octospawn is just a variety of frogspawn. The car is the same. They just look slightly different.

It looks as though you have what us called bi-color frogspawn. The blueish tipped tentacles may have just been not out earlier. It does look unhappy. What are you water perimeters?
