Hi, got a frogspawn about two weeks ago, branching one head. No matter where I put it in my tank it is not coming out. I have tried it in high flow and low doesn’t seem to like any of it. My nitrates are high at the minute, got a bad supply of salt water from LFS. Will nitrates affect it. No brown stuff coming out yet, so no visible infections.

When you say high, how high are we talking? Have you tested your other parameters?

Frogspawn Nitrates 2 to 40
PAR 75 to 600
Low flow but must have current / movement
Is anything in the tank picking on it?
Also I would never buy a single headed frogspawn in the future, two heads do better than one.

light sensitive, try covering it with some kind of egg carton. Gradually remove the covers slowly. Better long term health and color for your frogspawn :) good luck

Mine is on the bottom corner with probably too much flow and a clown that lives in it. If I redirect the flow it will open up more.
It has 12 heads. Was twice that many but gave half away when I moved it from my nano to the 120.

Reduce nitrate slowly.(water changes)
What is your alk and what alk did the frog come from?
Low light
Low flow
Giving it some time without messing with it can be a good thing.

They can be tempermental. Had a little frag that used to open up SOOO big that it was almost touching another coral. I rotated it 180 degrees and it has taken 5-6 months to get over it.

One thing about frogspawn, it will tell you if your water params are off. Thats been my experience atleast.
