I got into this hobby about 10 years ago with a 72 gallon Bow front. Had no idea what I got myself into, but loved it. Then the tank started to physically fall apart, the back glass was pulling away from the front glass, it was a matter of time before a catastrophe. I gave up, let the tank go to crap. Then my girlfriend got interested and wanted to keep the hobby going. I was hesitant, but I am extremely grateful and thrilled she got me back into it.
We have now downsized to a Innovative Marine 20 gallon peninsula tank. We started the tank in October of 2018. So far all I have is a picture of the tank from the very beginning. I will make sure to go home this weekend and start documenting the tank more in depth.
Here are the details (so far):
* Innovative Marine 20 Gallon Peninsula
* Kessil A160 w/ Controller
* InTank Media basket running Filter Floss, ChemiPure Blue, and Purigen
* Aquatic Life protein skimmer
We started with a larger media, instead of a sand bed, I learned my lesson real quick. (Detritus) We have since switched over to about a 1.5" Deep sand bed. We want to stick with a LPS/Softie tank and no dosing, in order to keep things simple. Been doing weekly water tests, our parameters are stable, however I have been trying to do at least weekly 25% water changes, but sometimes life/reality gets in the way.
Our Livestock:
* Coral Banded Shrimp (A$$hole)
* Bi-Color Blenny
* Snowflake Clownfish
* Crabs & Zombie/Turbo snails
* Zoa's - Rasta's, Dragon Eye's, Pink Zippers, Blue Hornets, Radioactives
* Mushrooms - Jawbreaker, Blue Spot Mushrooms, Yuma, and Radioactive Rhodactis
* Euphyllia / Hammer Coral
* Red Acan
