Im going from the 60 gallon to a 25 gallon with a 29 gallon sump. I have 2 small BTAs, small hammer coral, a group of sunny Ds, and 4 small fish. What will make the process a smooth transition? I am planning on letting the tank cycle and check the parameters weekly. Any advice?

If you're using your Rock out of the 60 and 50% of the old water shouldn't need to cycle your 25 gal tank . Your Rock and filtration equipment will still have enough bacteria to support your tank

I agree. I've done the same 65 down to a 25/20/plastic sump. Just be mindful if you are reusing sand. I've usually started with fresh sand but some rinse and reuse or get rid of it all and go bare bottom.
