So i recently acquired a 90 gallon rimless and drilled tank for free. I have a 25 lagoon tank right now and would really like to upgrade but im not sure if it is a smart decision. The price to upgrade seems like it will be paid for by breaking down my other 2 tanks and it's an incredible opportunity to just get gifted a tank of this size. The only thing is is that im leaving for college in a year and a half so i think that this would be the easier option than a 65 fresh tank and a 25 salt. just wanted to get more knowledgeable peoples input on it as this would be my first dive into a larger tank. If you have any question just ask.

Are you able to take the tank (s) with you to school? If not I'd recommend waiting it out knowing you've got a great project waiting for you when you're done!

I don't think that you are leaving in a year and a half should factor into the consideration. Things will always happen, and imo you'd regret not having a tank for that year and a half than you would having it set up then tearing it down.

So I cant take the tanks with me but I can keep them both set up at my parents house while I'm in college because my mom loves the tanks. It's just comes down to if having one bigger tank would be easier vs the 2 smaller one. I know I like salt more and I think it would be better to just focus on one.
