From snakes to fish

I don't have enough algea to support an urchin, and hate when things get moved so they and I wouldn't get along.

Making a quick list for you. How was your return line plumbed before? Over the top?

Yep you got it! It was just plumbed over the top tube from return pump

Look at lifereef overflow boxes, I’ve tested mine a dozen times and can’t get it to break siphon

I’m running back into the fish room after hitting send to see how quickly jinxing + Murphy’s law (I’m a member since birth lol) happen
Hey thanks for the giving the suggestion ! I will definitely consider

love the dueling monti's...:cool:along for the ride...;)

Update was able to elevate phosphate to .16, did a 10 gallon water change to bring nitrates down a bit. Doses ab+, reef roids, and neophose to bring phosphate to .16 which I am more comfortable with. I do not want to have Dino’s again! Also traded some zoas that I’ve had for a long time for some new nems

Looks fabulous! I just bought an urchin and now am wondering if we will regret it haha.
If it’s a tuxedo they are “safer” lol but ye they eat soft coral once in awhile and apparently feather dusters  probly because there is algae on it but they don’t kno when to stop

Did a 10g water change last week and I think I have a min Dino bloom again  ;Drowning, dinos can be seen on macro algae and top of tank . I thought my nitrate being 80ish and a 10gallon water change would be ok but I think my nitrates went to 0 (API), so I’m putting water changes on pause , hooked up UV and will feed a bit more. I’m hoping they wil go away fast, phosphate was at .37 when I checkEd yesterday so I do not need to dose any more neophos

Another update battling Dino’s -
Alk 10.8
Salinity 1.026
Nitrate 15 ppm
Phosphate .10 ppm
Ph 8.0
Still see Dino’s on top of macro algae / top of rock work right side. Will take white lights off / dose ocean magic phytoplankton to help get rid of Dino’s

Just messing with camera lol

Dude I'm literally on the back end of a dinos battle. Crazy timing! How's the battle going?? All over the tank or just here and there?

Haha I battled Dino’s earlier in my tanks life and it was bad! I eventually beat them but Dino’s never truly leaves the system. I think it bloomed again due to changing water too often, I was doing 20% weekly water changes and dosing AB+ Right now it’s a mild battle , they are only present on the right side of tank / only on very top of rocks / macro algae

Thanks that worked easy lol Gottem off the glass and put near right side of tank and got top down shot ;Bookworm
