I have over $ 200 of frozen foods consisting of mysis, cyclops, V20 oyster eggs and bloodworms when my freezer decided to stop working for awhile. I know the food was thawed and warm but I have no idea for how long. Food is currently re-frozen. All food is still in their sealed packages as well as vacuum sealed. I definitely don't want to do anything to jeopardize the health and lives of my fish but I am curious if this food is salvageable. My thought was to take the packages as they are - sealed in the original cube packs as well as vacuum sealed - and boil them and then lay them flat to refreeze. Anyone out there think this is a possibility?

I am sure you will find someone who will tell you the food is fine. I am not that person. IMO throw it out before you are tempt to use it al all. Personally I would never take the risk with my tank.

How long was it out before you noticed?

As I said , I have no idea how long it was thawed or warm. My only thought was that boiling might kill any and all bacteria and was hoping someone who was experienced with making food would chime in. I am not inclined to jeopardize any of my fish!
