I have brs 4 stage value plus ro/di which I run in my back yard into a 20g brute. I live in nyc so over the winter I bring the ro/di inside the house then I would only hook it up when the temp was above freezing. At the end of Jan I broke three bones in my foot getting a plate and six screws. At that point I had left the ro/di hooked up outside. It froze having a broken foot made life hell. I had to wait for the temp to go above freezing I tried running water through it at first the water would only run out through the waist line and it would come out white in color then after about thirty minutes it would come out through the filtered side. Does the ro/di freezing do any damage to the filter or any of its parts?

Water expands when frozen so if there was water in the actual unit then most likely you will need to replace all the filters including the membrane.

Yeah all new filters including the membrane. Check for leaks while your at it.

Not only would I order all new filters and a Membrane I would also make sure to order a new Flow Restrictor. If the filters did in fact freeze I am sure the restrictor did as well and that will make your RO system run very inefficiently.
