We have had a frag of fruit loops for a few weeks now, when we got them everything was great.

We moved them up the rock work to get them closer to the light after a week or two...

They were good for about a day and a half...

Then they started to close up after only being open for a few hours... So we moved them back to the sand.

They didn't open up as much again....

And now within the last few days they have been like this most of the time

What is wrong? Is there something I can do to fix this? Or help them?

Our parameters are good,
Salinity at 1.025
Phosphates 0
Nitrates 0
Alk 10 dKH
Calcium 460
Ph 8.1

We have a 14k metal halide and also run a blue panorama pro strip.

And I don't remember what lights they came from, I know the guy has radions on his DT but not sure what he has on his frag tank...

In the sand they were in a lot of flow.. We have the stock pump from our biocube hqi and a koralia 425 that we have set up... We moved them up on the rocks off of the sand tonight to see if that will help..

I have mine mid tank and good flow and they r multiplying

+1
Mine were really touch and go in the beginning too, I had a similar size frag. If they still open I would leave them be in the sand and don't touch as long as they aren't receding.

Maybe some lugols supplement in the water might help?

Those aren't Fruit Loops I don't think. Too bland. My fruit loops have alot more color.

Mine are slow growers. I have them under a Kessil A150W about 10 inches from the light in indirect but heavy flow. I have an MP10 and a MJ900 on a 8gal tank. MP10 is only running 25% flow.

Def fruit loops. All cameras are different.

Fruit loops and the other "deep water" zoanthids are notorious for being highly prone to fungal infections. There are a few different approaches for this, though I've had a lot of success with Furan in the past. Good luck

I had a few of my fruit loop polyps close up and never open up again, but a month or so later new polyps grew and took over the area. Ive never had a colony of zoas have a few polyps die, but the colony continue to be heathly and grow. Not sure why that happened. I watched these everyday and saw new polyps grow and push the old ones out of the way. I have never moved my fruit loops since the day I put them in the tank, I would say they are in medium light and low to medium indirect flow. I have about 40-50 polyps

I finally have a good update! :)

After doing a Lugols dip, placing them in lower light (shaded a lil from our MH), getting rid of our turbo snail.... And now after a month of adding fuel to our tank and feeding our fish rods food our fruit loops are doing wonderful and multiplying! :)
