Howdy guys, starting the tank breakdown as I had no takers for the whole setup. First to go is the fish and corals. Not sure anything would interest the diehards here on R2R but maybe this Emperor Angel might grab someone's attention for 150.00 bucks.
This is a very healthy and personable friend that I have had for 2 years now I guess. He's extremely handsome measuring 6-7" in length. He has his adult coloring which I enjoyed watching develop from his juvenile markings last summer. He's very personable as sometimes he'll actually knock on the glass and/or grunt wanting your attention. I've actually handfed him frozen (thawed) Angelfish cubes, otherwise he gets Mysis shrimp and Hakari Marine 'A' pellets.
This fish is not considered to be reef safe, albeit many reputable sellers note they are with caution. I've had his home filled with coral before and have never actually seen him nibble on SPS, or zoanthids, he will turn over frags and whatnot grazing on the rocks which can be a pain if your frags aren't fastened down.
Its recommended that the Emperor Angelfish be in a 220 gallon or larger tank with live rock for grazing and hiding. They also require extensive rockwork and deep caves to feel secure. Its rumored they will nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles, but may be kept with small-polyped stony corals and somewhat noxious soft corals.
I would prefer local pickup here in the St.Louis area, however I will deliver within 4 hours (250 miles) of the St. Louis Arch in any direction for 75.00 dollars and a hamburger/fries/coke. Alternately I can ship, I have large ProPak styro boxes but I have never shipped a fish before, lots of coral but no finned friends and frankly it would break my heart if this handsome devil wound up in the toilet 'cause I screwed up the packing. Not to mention I can't be offering an Arrive Alive guarantee with him not having shipped before (I will follow directions to a T if necessary)
Thanks for the opportunity to offer him/her on R2R!
