the skimmer is already at lease 3 plus years old. Even though you paid a lot of money at the time but technology has changed.
These days, with $500, you can get a new top notch skimmer out there in the market. (most places offers free shipping when people spend at least $250)
I think you would be in for a long shot if you looking to get 1000 back for a used skimmer

To be honest with you. If I were to spend over $300 on a skimmer, I would go for a new one. You just never know what condition of the pump is when you buy a used skimmer.
