So I have switched my 60g nem cube over to MH. I actually would like to keep the Radion for supplemental lighting because I really miss the look of the LED especially for sun up, sun down but I cant fit it in the canopy with the MH reflector so I'm going to sell my Radion and try out one of the controllable Kessils instead.

I'm looking for one of the wide angle Kessils so if you have something to trade I might be interested in that as well.

Paypal only must pay fee or gift payment. I will ship anywhere inside the the continental US priority mail fully insured.

PM me if interested.

I like the halide a lot. I went with a single 250w DE 14000k Phoenix on a lumantek hqi ballast. It's a trade off for sure. Lots I like better about MH and lots I liked better with the Radion. I do have some minor heat issues but only because I have a canopy

Thanks for the info. ..

What about some tank shots with the MH?

What about some tank shots with the MH?

Here is my build thread with tons of pics. Starting at post 51 are all halide pics. Everything before is with the Radion. I think it's fair to say they both did did well in there own right. Of course the led had better color pop in my opinion but overall the corals seem a bit happier under halide and open up more and grow a little faster. That may or may not have to do with the light or the tank maturing or maybe both. Some of the zoas that were were not doing as well under the Radion are doing better under halide and visa versa. But overall even though a few of the zoas maybe be getting too much light now most are growing really well.

As you can see everything in this tank is pretty easy stuff. So MH or led I don't really think it matters too much here. Once my 350 sps system is up and running I'll be. Doing a combination of led and halide. The purpose of this tank was to have everything my wife loves and I like as well that I didn't really want in. My sps tank.

I should also mention I do struggle with higher temps with the MH. I also have the canopy which I've had to leave open on these hot summer days. So that kinda sucks but I have plans to put in some additional ventilation down the road that I think will take care of the problems. If I leave the canopy open and run a couple small pc fans blowing on the water when the halide is on my temp stays between 78.5 - 79.2 avoiding the graph on my reef keep. If I close the hood temp swings between 78.5 - 81 with some pretty steep rises and drops around when the halide is on and off. Not terrible but 81 deg is starting to get to get to the point where I don't feel like I have a ton of wiggle room if something were to go wrong the my AC going out or something.
