Bump for a better than great collector/seller.
I like that perfect storm Darrell. Is it a green with orange rainbow center? My BHS are coming back!! Yellow ring is looking good, just need for black to get darker. All looking much better with new lighting.

Thank Rik. Yeah I think that new ATI fixture you got will only fuel the addiction. The perfect storm is a sweet man. One of my favorites.

In case you did not know Darrell was published in this quarters Reef Hobbyist Magazine. He did an article on his incredible skills in growing out and maintaining Acans. Not just an article however; his great photography landed him on the cover. A great article with amazing photos. You can see it online.

It was his comment of how he felt robbed after 6 years (I think that was it) that actually made me break out the T5s for the acans I have- I hope to have the same "adrenaline" rush he had.
I aquired a lot of nice acans in a few growouts I did and I can say there has been some morphing, not all but some and some of those cans came from Darrell so I am hoping they go back to the gorgeous beauty they originally were and not just the beauty they presently are :tongue:

I was in same boat as you. I have quite a few of Darrell's and they all morphed under a Radion (however, very little under Kessils, believe it or not). Darrell as well as Mike from SC (whom I also have several of his choice pieces) both told me to ditch the Radion and go with the T5 and even supplement with reefbrites so I finally did a craniectomy (pulled head out of butt) and got an ATI dimmable and went with same bulb configuration as Darrell and I immediately went WooHoo. Such a difference. within 3 days they were going redder and are shifting back nicely and a week later my Black Hole Suns had the yellow ring back. Now just waiting for the black pigmentation to come back. I think it will take a bit of time to get original color back but I am confident they all will
Moral of the story- Do it. Switch. My few sps are responding very nicely as well.

Rik, Thanks but I think you're giving me way too much credit. It was just my opinion with T5's. But I'm glad you're happy. And I might just buy the same dimmable ati fixture you bought.

Thank you! Funny thing is there are a handful of times where I was that excited in the hobby. I'll never forget how pumped I was when the lights turned on and I saw my corals. Thankfully my friend answered his phone, otherwise I woulda gone nuts. Imagine the pain of not being able to immediately share your joy with someone. Not as extreme but it's like winning the lottery and not having a friend or any family to share it with.

I ordered the big pack and received it yesterday. Acans look great so far. Packaging was great and he even threw in a freebie acan. My picture taking skills are terrible but i will try and get some decent pics posted. Thanks darrell.
