Fuge frag tank

Kicking around ideas for my next tank build and thinking of using a refugium sump but just running the fuge as a frag tank on a opposite light cycle than the display. I was wondering how many people are doing something similar on a 120g or less tank? I see it all the time on large systems but not normally on smaller tanks.
