I am finally starting a refugium in the back compartment of my Biocube 29 using an inTank media basket. What type of light is best for this? I only saw a few on Marinedepot.com and they were really expensive! any low cost ideas? please help!

What will be in the fuge? If it is just macro alga a PAR38 bulb would work. If you want and Coral you'll need to match the Coral's requirements.

I can't see your particular setup but most fuges work nicely with the screw in spiral compact flourescent type lights in a round reflector. Both available from wall mart, lowes home depot etc etc etc etc. Look for the 6500k lights. wall mart had GE in bubble packs with blue pringing and a "6500k" vertically printed on the cardboard. A couple of 11 watters are something like $5-7 or so.

Shoot for 4 watts/gallon where the gallons are the fuge only or the area where the macros are growing. On my in tank refugium I put the lights behind my tank pointing forward. But with that system the entire back tank back wall was the fuge with a partition a few inches from the back wall. Your system would be different. But hopefully this gives you some idea.
