We will be cataloging the growth of this flame algae, which is known to be a slow grower, under our new Fuge-Lite series LEDs. It took about a week to acclimate, so we will consider this day one:

My Flame Algae does extremely well under reef lighting 12-20K.
I have never had any measurable growth under fuge lighting 5000-6500k

Just wanted you to know my experience. I'd hate for your fixture to get less than desirable results simply because of wrong temp of the bulbs.
I think your experiment would better serve the fixture if you tested growth of the green stuff...Cheato, Calurpa and maybe even mangroves.

5000k and 6500k do not apply to the Fuge-Lite series, it is a combo of 660nm red and 450nm royal blue in a 5:1 ratio. From my research, I have found that 660nm reds grow a LOT of red algae, the blues are there to grow the green algae as well, in theory, so I wanted to test its effectiveness. I know it works on green algae, my chaeto is going crazy, as is my ats.

I just went and checked it out, probably should have done that before I posted the first time lol
The light is awesome! It'll be worth it to me just to avoid the hassle of changing bulbs every 3 months.

Have you ever tried it on mangroves?

That's nice. I'll follow. I've been hearing those colors are the new best algae lights.

I have heard that LEDs of that spectral ratio will work very well with mangroves, or most plants for that matter.

Very cool Logan.Im thinking about putting a fuge on my dt but im working on a much larger project now so it will probally be on the back burner
