The ocean is open to all, merciful to none.
You can put it anywhere you like. There are always advantages and disadvantages to every chamber. I would not ever place it in the last chamber though, for obvious reasons.
If you look at all the new Triton ready sumps coming out from Synergy, Trigger and Crystal Reef, that’s exactly how they’re all set up. The first chamber on all of these designs is the refugium chamber, so you should be fine.
