Been thinking about adding a fuge to my setup. Should I add one and get some cheato or not?

Are you thinking of draining the sump and adding a baffle? or doing one separate?

Separate. I would tee off from return and get another small aquarium and place it next to my sump now

Whats the benefits of having one ?

More water in your system.
Nitrate export with macro algae.
Pod Farming.
Keeping a steady PH when using alternate light cycles between tank and fuge.
Keeping things like heater, skimmer and other junk out of the display.
Place to do dozing and things like water changes or top-off.
Keeps the water level in the display constant.

Well i already got the sump when skimmer, heater and other junk is in lol but i have been reading up on it more and more and it seems like having a refugium will really help out a system.

Is if bad to have a fuge seperate from the sump?

Not at all as long as all the plumbing works out safely so nothing gets overflooded.
