Hi, I do have a question. I tried hitting google for this but still kind of unsure about this. So I’ve done cycling with dry rock but not with frag Fuji rock. Does that just mean it’s live bacteria already established or does that mean I need to switch to a reef safe salt instead of the normal instant saltwater I usually get? I just understood it as being coral? I’m staying with an FOWLR tank because I don’t want to deal with coral reef right now. I found frag Fuji rock for 8.99/lb but I didn’t want to get into a coral reef yet if that’s actually what it is.

hi,can't go wrong with "true" live rock imo... :)

I think your thinking of Fiji live rock. But the real Fiji live rock isn’t available now. So it probably Walt Smith man made rock that either fry or been in a grow out system.

Volcanic Japanese rock may have some elements yo do not want :P

Instant Ocean salt is fine for both of these types of rock in your FOWLR.

The only thing that worries me is the word "frag" fiji rock. Could it be rubble for mounting frags?

It can be confusing when someone calls dry rock live rock. Just look for the word dry in the title.

would love to see rock, true Fiji live rock collection ended about 2000 - 03 ?? close to that.

If its dry, its probably not worth $8.99 lb.

Is this dry rock or (wet) live rock?

So its LFS live rock, not really ocean live rock...
If I'm going to pay a premium for live rock, its going to be direct from the ocean, with the real deal on it.

You can get live rock from the ocean from KP Aquatics for about that same price.

25 lbs of that rock at $7.99 would be $200 plus tax.
20 lbs of rock shipped from KPA, direct from the ocean would be $215, shipped overnight.

Are you looking to recreate the biome of the ocean in your tank or the biome of your LFS in your tank?

Saying all that, I'm coming from the point of view that most LFS have poor quality live rock. I know my LFS does....
They've had a bin setup for live rock for a couple years now... the rocks in the bin look like they took dry marco rocks off their shelves, chucked them into the bin and then started charging $10/lb for it. calling it live rock. Because that is exactly what they did. it has no life on it whatsoever except most of it is literally covered in vermetid snails now, nothing else. I would never buy live rock from this bin. if your LFS is better, than forget what I said, but I'd pass on paying a premium for the live rock I've seen at most LFS.

Do you know if they ship to the Netherlands? And if not, do you know any alternatives for this live rock that gets shipped to the Netherlands?
