Fungia plate dying

seems like its too much light for the coral.
The damaged area was not good to begin with and most times when they get damaged like this if not healed quickly often times infection sets in and the plate declines farther.
Do NOT throw the skeleton away once it dies off, Try and create a place for it in indirect light now to help it try and recover while you try to spot feed
Once the plate dies off, keep the skeleton shaded a bit and just let it sit for a few months. Sometimes they will start to generate some tissue in spots after looking dead for a long long time. They either come back a bit and start to regrow a new OR a few babies will grow off of the plate looking like colonial plates together and once they are large enough they will detach from the parent skeleton.
