#reefsquad,

Is this tissue damage on my fungia? Two black areas/spots, fuzzy looking in nature.

What can I do?

That does look like tissue damage to me, an iodine dip would be a good idea to try.

Do I tweeze off the black/possible algea? How long of a iodine dip, then what do I do? And what concentration do I do for iodine dip? Bottle only describes how to dose into water column

You can carefully tweeze off the algae, just don't touch the tissue

I have the Kent marine iodine and I've always roughly followed the instructions on the bottle which is 40 drops per gallon of water and dip for 10 to 15 minutes. Then I rinse it in a clean saltwater bath and put it back in the tank.

If it doesn't make it don't take it out of your tank, I lost one about 6 months or so ago and it has about 11 babies on it now

It could be an issue with water parameters but from the looks of it, it also could have been some type of trauma to the tissue like a rock falling on it or even being stung by a neighboring coral
