Funny Amazon reef tanks

Im thinking it would actually be a cool project to do a nano build with cheap off brand products solely from Amazon/Ebay/Aliexpress...

I know what species it is, that wasn't my question , I just wondered if there was any reason for the hippo name was all, as to me I can't see any resemblance to any hippo I ever seen, and I grew up in hippo country, I haven't always been on this wee island.

I always thought "Hippo" came from hepatus the species name. Someone probably pronounced it "Hippatus"

Let me know when you do! I have always thought that a tank like that would be cool but could never bring myself to throw away the money.

they take turns in the water, when the clownfish is thirsty, he puts some salt in the water then he pours it out when hes done then the betta re fills it with fresh water when he is thirsty

You could put a chunk of live rock, assorted damsels and gsp. It could work.

I own the 12 gallon tank. Don't hate! 3 lion fish, a Betta and a clownfish go great together. Maybe not in your tanks... But mine is magical!

Now I kinda feel like a loser... I'm not feelin so magical. I have 1 clown that attacks my hand and 1 crab that refuses to eat the algae growing next to my zoa. Oh, he eats the stuff in the back just fine. I pointed the algae out to him and he really did walk up to it and then he seemed to give me the middle claw and scurry away.

this is why i want to make a made in the usa reef florida biotope
