Fur / fluff / tentacles on hermit crab?

My son has a hermit crab in his nano which has fluff / fur growing on it with fine tentacles / spines growing. I have only been able to find this article on it but does anyone know anything about it / any action needed? has tentacles exactly like this?? Cant find any info on whether it is good / bad or what to do ??

Wow that is kind of cool, looks to be a hydroid type. Can wait to see an image of yours.

Unless you start to see the unknown start to pop up in other places I would just wait and watch.

I've seen hermits with all kinds of algae on them even some zoa's and a encrusting Monti.
