I've moved my sebae anemone into a QT container. Been in my DT for 2 months but slowly seen a decline, it started moving around more, didn't except food and seems to consuming its tentacles. It's been facedown the last two mornings and has really deflated today and many tentacles seem to be missing.

Still no bad smell but obviously concerned about my DT so I decided to pull him.

Now he's separated it would be worth trying with an antibiotic wouldn't it? As I'm in the UK I can't get hold of cipro without a prescription but I do have Furan-2 to hand.

Anyone treated nems with this before?

Thanks mate but unfortunately it went downhill really quickly and turned to mush.

Incredible how quickly it went from moving around to dead. Also frustrating when it seemed happy for 2 months.

No matter how much research it seems these are very complex creatures to understand and I'll certainly think twice before adding another.

i am sorry to hear:( also sorry how LONG this was missed..
Like the way you think:cool:
hopefully not...but ever need help again ,use the emergency tag,and you can always call @ reefsquad.

I don't think it would've made much difference to be honest mate, but thanks.

I suppose it would still be a useful thread of anyone does have any experience of opinions using Furan-2 with anemones though.

Furan 2 would be better than nothing. I have never used it on a nem, but it is a broad spectrum antibiotic. The dosage is what would worry me. I would start low, look for songs of improvement or decline and then decide from there if I needed to up the dose.

@OrionN thoughts on musing furan?
