So i have suffered fish deaths on my tank lately because of popeye and finrot. LFS tell me that my tank might have bacterial infection going on. Did water change twice already but still my fish keeps on having fin rots and eventually die.

Now my game plan is to treat the tank with Furan 2 and i still have kanaplex on hand. Can i mix them both? Or should i do it 1 medication at a time. I have a volitan and fox face in there which does not show signs of infection.

Thanks for all the support.

These antibiotics do not work well in a dt. If there is no sign of infection with these 2, I would leave it alone. If you do see signs, for effective treatment, they would need to be in a hospital tank without rock and substrate. There does need to be a viable form of biological filtration on the hospital tank.

I have used these 2 meds together with no problems, but only did it in a QT tank. Not sure how they will effect your DT.

Antibiotics are going to be best used in a bare bottom QT. Degradation is possible, also the biofilm could possibly break the meds down before they become effective in treatment.
