Further success with my DIY "algae reducer"

Some of you may have recently followed a heated discussion about my DIY "algae reducer", here:

My original post stated that my tank was "virtually algae free" but after posting pics like this:

I was understandably "corrected" as my tank was not necessarily "algae free" but more like "algae less" (compared to the several bouts of long hair algae that I've had in the past)

Here is an updated pic of the same rock:

I have done nothing different between the two pics (no scrubbing, etc) and while I do have snails, hermits, and herbivore fish that "may" have somewhat contributed to cleaning up the rocks a bit, it's not like I see them relentlessly scarfing down every nook and cranny of the rocks.

Hope this gives a bit of motivation to anyone struggling with long hair algae to either buy an algae turf scrubber or DIY one, like I did.

Nice, i had a similar experience as well once i added my DIY ATS
