My Cardinal is a new addition and I've had him for 2 weeks now. He takes other food but spits it back out.
I've tried different types of foods and soaking in garlic but no joy.
I always vary the food daily like flakes, pellets, freeze dried blood worms and daphnia but nothing. I've even tried peeled peas.
I brought live blood worms and Daphnia and the only thing it has eaten is the dauphina.
What can I do. I cant feed all of the fish this every day but hell starve otherwise.
Help!

Cardinals are picky and usually dont eat dry food. Have you tried adding garlic to frozen food? heard this sometimes works w Cardinals. Otherwise, you'd have to experiment with different types of frozen food until you find one that the Cardinal likes. I dont have any Cardinals but all my fish love LRS Reef Frenzy, LRS also makes Fish Frenzy just for carnivore fish.

my cardinal is very picky as well. I am trying to get it to eat dry, but it is difficult.

it loves eating frozen PE mysis however

I chopped up a hunk of frozen clam from a Rods food package for my nem. I made some smaller pieces for my tank. All the PJ Cardinals went for it. One nearly gagged on a big piece.
They always eat live black and white worms.

Sorry for the late reply.
He seems absolutely fine he does hover a bit but tends to swin around the tank leisurely and slowly but prefers to avoid the other fish. Hes vibrant in colour the only issue is the feeding. Hes around 1.5inch ish still quite small.
I've already tried garlic didnt make any difference at all.
I'm going to try frozen food and see how it goes. I dont seem to be able to buy LRS in the UK so I'll research a good UK brand and go from there.
He not being bullied or anything like that a have a couple of rowdy damzels that tried when he first went in but he stood his ground now they leave him alone.
It appears I have a fussy eater and I've read that mine isnt the only one. I'll persevere until I find a solution. Thank you all for your help.

Oh maybe I'll try that. Thanks
