I have a 120 4x2x2, it will have 2 DM-165e led lights, strong flow, and good water quality. I'm just getting it set-up and running but I know I want an anemone in the future. I have 2 ocellaris clowns now and I really love the clown-nem symbiosis. Whats the right kind of anemone for them? I'm my last reef tank I had a RBTA and my black and white ocellaris wouldn't host it, they chose to host behind a powerhead. I picked up an alardi clown and he loved the RBTA.

I know the BTA anemones are some of the easier ones to keep but I'm really likeing the display clown breeding tank at mu LFS that has. I believe it's Magnifica Ritteri, but the tank is a 150 or 180 i believe. Is a 120 big enough for one of these or should. I stick with the BTA or maybe a mini carpet?

Hi, a 125/g is plenty. LEDS are fine too. Imo, a Magnifica is one of the 2 hardest Anrmones to keep until stablized. They are magnificent animals though and I've been keep them for a long time. He's a pic of one of mine. They are beautiful when healthy and clowns enjoy them.

Thats very nice.

I saw a nice purple LTA at a different LFS yesterday then I looked them up. Yeah they get really big also. I think I'm gonna end up with a BTA again, everythnig else is just so big, the mini carpets are nice but I really wanted long tentacles.

LTA

Not a Magnifica are large.

Here's 4 that I got a couple months back. They're upside down so they don't anchor the my QT, but all are about 6"

The Ritteri will usually stay at the top and where others tend to stay on the bottom of your tank.

This nem would be a good fit:

If it were me, I'd pick a gigantea.

I have a blue gigantea in my 120 with a trio of ocellaris clowns and it is the highlight of the tank. :)

How long do you keep them upside down in a QT tank?

A Stichodactyla gigantea? Carpet anemone?

Yes. It's bigger now, but here's mine from three years ago (on the right; the green one on the left is also a gigantea, but it slowly declined after I got the blue one).:
