Future water filter?

This is HUGE ! ! !

I would believe it would be an asset to ANY filtration unit. Seeing as it is inexpensive, I have a feeling that we will never see it.

Someone will buy them out and stop it because it will encroach on other more expensive tech....

EDIT: I should add that I pray I am wrong...
 
I would only hope that it's a viable technology that someone can make money from. In this world, if you can make money from it, it becomes available to all. Sad, but true.
 
I'm not sure I see a big benefit to our current systems, even if it works as claimed, but someday it might be commercialized into a useful prefilter for RO/DI.

It is used as a prefilter to an RO membrane to prevent clogging. We'd still need a carbon block to remove chlorine, but it might be able to replace the particulate filters we use.
