Anyone able to tell me what these are? They have been on this live rock since I brought it home from the shop (it was dried) and i noticed today that one has now fallen off. They don't seem to be causing any trouble- just curious!

They are soft and spongy to touch.

Get rid of them they're dead.
Do they need to be removed urgently or anything? Like I say, they've been there since I set up 2 months ago and have caused no harm to the tank.

I'm happy to go in and remove, don't get me wrong, just I've had to replace my clowns cause the original two I had were fighting constantly, so don't want to stress the new ones out when they are still getting used to their surroundings.

I mean at this point they aren't likely to hurt anything but you'll eventually want to dig em out.

Where did you get the dry rock from? Usually dry rocks are bleached which would melt away any sponges. Wonder why they are still on the rock?

Ahh okay fair enough. I'll give the clowns a couple of days and then look at removing them. Thank you!

I had them from my LFS, they get them in but they are kept in polystyrene boxes. They told me it was dried, but it did have a bit of moisture still to it when I got them out the box. So maybe not dried but not straight out of another tank either.

On another note, does anyone know what these red shoots on my live rock are...?
