I am currently cycling a 36 gallon tank. I plan on keeping a fuzzy lionfish in it. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could put a valentini puffer in the tank with the lion. I would purchase the lion a little bit smaller than the puffer so it could not eat it. They would also be the only tank inhabitants. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

I can see the puffer nipping the lions fins as a potential problem. Mines rarely grazes the rocks unless he's wearing down his teeth, so it wouldn't be a likely issue with my valentini, so it may not be an issue for you either, but it depends on the individual fish.
Also be careful of the lion when he grows up, instinct should make the lion realise the puffer is deadly, but it may not be enough to persuade him off eating the puffer. Everything that can fit in his mouth is a potential meal.
From my experience lions grow considerably quicker than valentinis aswell. As long as the lion is noticeably smaller, you should be ok atleast short term though.
Goodluck!
