Hello all,

I am currently treating my fish for ich and they've been for just over a week at therapeutic level (~ 2.5 ppm) with Coppersafe.
There are 4 fish currently under treatment: 2 clowns, 1 royal gramma and a blue tang.
More recently (last 2-3 days mainly), I've noticed the clowns twitching way more than before treatment start and also scratching their mouths and lips (if this makes any sense) on the pvc pipes in the QT. (imagine them with mouths open and rubbing repeatedly their mouths on the pvc.
I read a bunch of threads that say the fish can still show symptoms at this time, but it's odd that the symptoms seem to be more severe now than before.

Anyway, I thought they might also have flukes so I wanted to rule that out. So I set aside a small bowl of FW in which I mixed copper. I wanted to make sure I don't interrupt for even a second the copper treatment so I made sure to get my copper ppm in the FW bowl at the same concentration as currently in the QT. (using Hanna meter for mesurement)

So I put my 2 clowns in the FW dip for about 7 minutes. Didn't notice any sign of flukes after that treatment. One of the clowns however, wasn't looking very happy after the dip. He seemed quite exhausted after I've put him back in the QT (right when I put him back in QT he almost went belly up, but now sitting on a side mostly) so I am keeping a close eye on him to make sure he gets back on his fins (wanted to say "feet").

Something that seemed odd to me was that I saw a bunch of air bubbles on their skin when I had them in the FW. Is that something normal? I am attaching a picture.
Also, attaching pictures of the bowl I did the dip in. All that I can see is a bit of food that they probably still had in their mouth, but other than that I don't see anything that looks like white sesame seeds.
With so many experienced reefers around here, I thought about askig if all this is normal or if you have any other suggestions on what I can try to do to first make the fish feel better and not scratch that much and second, make sure that clown recovers quick.

Thank you in advance!

Fish can and do continue scratching and flashing in treatment. Copper is an irritant.

Are you sure the Hannah colorimeter for copper can be used with fresh water? Most are salt specific.

7 minutes is also a long fw dip.

There is only one, maybe two types of flukes you will be able to see with your eyes. Most will need magnification so a visual inspection of the bowl after, doesn't rule out flukes as well.

I might not remember correctly but I read a thread from a few years ago at some point where @Humblefish was doing all the testing and figured that the Hanna meter was working in salt water quite accurately. So from there I deducted that likely the meter was initially developed for FW and only after Hanna did further testing and research, along with some input from Humblefish, I assume, and from there on they said it was ok for saltwater as well.
Again, I might have missunderstood the situation and maybe it doesn't work in FW so maybe @Humblefish or someone else can confirm?

I did 7 minutes of dip because I wasn't sure how long is long enough. I read in some places people doing 10 minute dips, others doing 5 minutes. Maybe I should have asked before, so lesson learned. Hopefully that clownfish recovers!

When you say magnification, are you talking magnifying glass scale magnification or microscope?
I'm thinking if it's magnifying glass scale magnification, I should have seen at least small dots or something, but bottom of the bowl was clear (other than that food and some air bubbles).

Sorry for the many rookie questions!

Use methylene blue helped to keep them more relaxed
