Hi all. I got this big majestic yesterday. I got it home and the water matched pretty well so after a 30minute drip I put him in my qt.

I checked a couple hrs later and he was doing a pretty good twitch. Ive Had issues with flukes lately and instantly dropped prazi in and upped surface agitation. Then I instantly regretted it since it was just put in the tank.

this morning he’s still got a bit of a twitch but less so.He was hiding when I tried to feed but he definitely snatched food that floated past.

So, I’m wondering if I should do a fw dip or just let the prazi work? I want to help but I don’t want to over stress.

Thanks for the help.

Hey Bevo

Great your fish is eating a bit. The prazi can cause a bit of a put off of eating.

The FW dip is unnecessary at this point. Besides it usually only removes the "skin" flukes and some of the gill or eye flukes that may be present. The prazi will be working to remove all of the 3 types of flukes the fish may have. So in 5-7 days do a 25% water change and then dose again to kill any eggs the flukes may have deposited in/on your fish.

Awesome. Thanks for verifying that. I fed again and he popped out and get a lot of eat so that's good. Long way to go with these guys. This is my 2nd try. First one was doing great for about 2 weeks, then I started ramping up copper and he stopped eating. My plan here is to take care of these flukes and just let him chill out for a bit. Then ramp up even more slowly.
