FYI on apex from lfs

I don't believe that is fair either. Unless you are buying used, the warranty should be from the date of your purchase. That said, you may be pleasantly surprised by the bill you actually receive. I sent one in for the same issue and the cost was much less than that (and it was my fault that it burned out).

WOW.. what a terrible example of customer service. I can 100% understand if the Purchaser didnt have a reciept for the item. then it defaulting back to the MFG date. BUT, having a rcpt with date of purchase and the item should in all respects start the warranty on that date. Electronics dont just wear while sitting in the box waiting to be purchased. Yea, in a few years technology can become outdated, but that alone should not effect the original equipment...

Shame on Apex for this situation.
