G8rNation's Reefer 350

Spent the weekend at RAP Orlando. Second year going to it and this year was awesome just like last year. I didn't plan on spending a lot this year but came across some good deals on pieces I have been looking for. One of the coolest things I did pick up this year from RAP are the frag racks from the alternative reef. They look like real rock and hold a decent amount of frags. I only bought one of these on Saturday but liked it so much that I had to get another one today. I also ended up picking up a cool frag rack that is designed to look like a regular rock to sit on the sand. Figured it would be beneficial for new additions into the tank for acclimation.

Left half of the tank now with the new frag rack

Right half of the tank with the larger frag rack

Sandbed frag rack filled with some new pieces from RAP. Still trying to find the best settings with the Radions to take pictures under. I had gel filters that used to work fine under my steves LEDs but for some reason they don't work with the Radions.

Updated FTS with some of the corals getting moved over

RR OP and something labeled as MOP (marvels something maybe???) I picked these guys up from Joe knows coral

I really was looking to get an ASD rainbow milli this year but couldn't find myself to spend 100 on just tiny nubs of it. I was able to find a solid deal on the gold aussie torches. I got a single head for $20. Crazy to think last year they were selling for around 50 a head and this year some vendors had them for 100 a head.

Decided to add a pair of skunk clowns into the tank. So far they have been doing good. Hopefully they will start to host in the bubble tip or in the toadstool frag. I also picked up a tiny fuzzy lion. I didn't plan on getting one of these so early but he was exactly what I was wanting to eventually pick up. He is still super small, the clowns are bigger than he is, maybe around an inch long. Now for some pics :)

The new lion

Thought this picture awesome. If only I had something better than the iphone for pictures

And a picture of the bc coral growing machine

Also I finally decided on a skimmer. With that being said the bubble magus curve 7 will be here within a week hopefully. Marine depot had a 15 percent off sale on bubble magus so I ended up getting it for right around 250. It is supposed to be rated for up to 250 gallon tanks for lightly stocked tanks so this should work wonders in the 90 gallons or so of the 350. I'm planning on keeping a couple wrasses and tangs so I will need the extra waste removal the oversized skimmer will give.

Been a couple months since I've given this thing an update. A lot has happened in the tank, a couple new fish and then I had an Ich outbreak that claimed most of my fish. Most of the corals are doing great, with the exception of my RR OP frag which recently decided to bleach out. The tank is stocked full of frags at this point so now ill sit back and slowly watch them grow out. Here's a couple quick pictures of the tank tonight.

Its been a few months since I've done an update so I figured it was time. The tank is still up and running strong. Currently dealing with a small red slime issue but that should be resolved soon (hopefully). I've been really satisfied with the Radions and their power to grow everything in the tank with little issues. I have just made the switch from Red sea pro salt to Aquaforest. I didn't like the high Alk that the RSP was giving me so after a lot of research I chose to go with Aquaforest reef salt. I've slowly been adding fish since the ich outbreak that claimed most of my previous fish. I've almost finished adding fish (with the addition of my radiance wrasse today) but plan on adding a pair of golden nugget clowns whenever I can come across a pair for a decent price. Every reef has to have some clowns right?! I'll add some pictures shortly as well because that's really all anyone looks at :)

Current fish:
Blue eye kole tang
Sailfin tang
Bi color blenny
Harptail blenny
Solaris wrasse
Leopard wrasse
Radiant wrasse

And some updated fish pictures and tank shots. Of course I couldn't get the leopard wrasse, for some reason it fears my iPhone.

Momma sailfin. Anytime my kole or Solaris mess with anyone she always comes in between them and puffs up and they disperse.
