Hi all!

Almost a year ago, we had a power outage. When power came back on, my GAC (BRS Rox .8) reactor somehow allowed a good amount (several tsp) to be blown into the return chamber of my sump, which then found its way into my DT. I have vacuumed up as much as I could, however, I am sure there are granules in the rock work and crevices.

How long does that stuff retain its charge (how long can it absorb things from the water)?

I specially wonder about if I ever need to use something like reef flux or Chemiclean, if those granules would still be able to absorb it, rendering it ineffective. To be clear, I doubt there’s a ton still in the DT, and it’s been over a year since this happened.

Nope. Carbon really only lasts a couple weeks at most in our systems, too much to adsorb. It's inert or even gone at this point.
