I purchased a few soft corals, and the seller tossed in a free frag of Galaxea, which, I have come to find out, has sweeping tentacles. Will I be stung if I put my hand in the tank and come into contact with a tentacle? Perhaps most importantly, does Galaxea contain palytoxin? I'm not sure whether I should be taking special precautions in this case. I was caught off guard by the free gift in my goodie bag of corals. Thanks!

No, you're fine. I move and handle ours all the time.

There really aren't any additional precautions that need taken with galaxea than other LPS. The stinging cells on the sweepers should not be able to penetrate your skin.

As said above they wont sting you (I think technically they are stinging you but can't harm you. . . aren't corals stinging everything that touches their stinging cells?) I have handled mine (have 3 of them) barehanded with no issues.

Depending on your tank size, maybe not the best freebie.

Galaxea has a strong sting, and long stinger tentacles. And it spreads quickly.

Do a bit of research on that one and think about it.
