So I have recently got a galaxia from my lfs. I pretty much Told them this is my first coral recommend me something and just tell me what I need to do to make it thrive. This was also after a water test btw.
So. I have 2 AI primes on my 36 bow front with everything set to 100 basically and I have the frag at an angle.

the pictures are when I first put it in.
Recently it’s been opening up looking more “bushy” twards the spot facing away from the light and noticeably less so at the top (facing twards the light) this leads me to believe it’s way to much for the coral to Handel, also flow, it’s in a very low flow area of my tank if that maters. It’s been in my tank for 3 days but like I said the images posted are from just being put in. Any input would be great.
I don’t mind moving it but I’ll have to buy some more rock for it’s island.

I put mine on my main rock and somewhat regret it they sting everything I recommend putting it on its own island.

TLDR VERSION: am I giving my coral to much light?
2 primes on 36 bow front. Settings -100 on everything
Coral is around 12-14 inches deep

top facing twards light

I keep mine down low and somewhat isolated as they can have fairly long stinging tentacles. Easy coral to keep.

Yeah she’s deff getting her own island I’m in the process of “naturalizing” my aquarium because I have some fake plants and stuff in it.

Agree facing moderate light and under moderate water flow. Lower half of tank is ideal location although they grow regardless

Yeah she’s deff getting her own island I’m just waiting for the next pay check for an extra 10lb in dry rock to replace all the fake stuff in my tank

Cool I’ll deff be moving her then to a higher flow lower light area. I also have a glass lid at the top of my tank which is why everything is at 100 on the prime 16 hds

I have 4. All of them in the sand ATM until they get their own rock. IDK about 100 on the prime. That may be bright. I bought a seneye awhile back for the par meter and found I was lasering a few pieces. Dailed my lights back and I give these guys about 125 par.

I do have a glass lid I was pushing 100 on all cuz I was afraid of how much the glass top would kill the par... have you seen “the reef dudes” version of ab+? What do you think of it?

Yeah it seems most people have them at the lower portion of the tank she will deff be moved after I get some more dry rock this week.

I have a bi color & a Sonic the hedgehog both on the floor of the tank in about 100 par growing well & full bushy looking

not sure about reef dudes. I downloaded the Saxby profile for my Hydra 32s and have that with a t5 hybrid. I dialed the intensity down until I got what I needed.

My glass didn't kill par until it got foggy. I ended up removing it because of how bad it looked and how much maintenance was needed to keep them clean. Plus, I dose kalk with my ato and no glass helps with evap so my dose is consistent.

On prime. . . . . Go with :
White - 20-25%
blue 65-75%
green 4%
Red 2-3%
Violet 45%
UV 60%

Yep.
BRS does very good lighting videos on Youtube. That's where I started as far as height and spacing. They also go into levels.

Do you think I should change it ASAP or acclimate to new settings ? She’s only been under the light for 3 ish days now.
