i think were getting off topic what does any of this have to do with a corals going extint and needing to be protected. 90-95% of the stag/elkhorn corals in florida area have gone since the 80s. the oceans are way more important than your needs to collect hot corals or else soon you wont have a hobby at all.
but on the subject of LFS responsibility well of course they should have the correct info and not give false info but thats not what was said or what were talking about. accourding to your statements if i walk into a LFS and say hey i want that Blue Spot Puffer i highly doubt any LFS is going to make sure i have the proper setup for it unless i ask. but accourding to you i can come back and say hey it ate all my zoas you cheated me! or hey it died in my 20g tank and blame the LFS.
