I bought a metal stand for a 40 Gallon Breeder. The tank is flush with the stands on the side. But the front and back has a 1.00mm gap. See video. I filled the tank with RO and added salt before I noticed the gap. Should I pump the water into a large rubber trash can I bought for storing water and place something like a piece of treated plywood underneath?

Will this crack my tank? Any advice for this newbie :)

Thanks!

you should have put some foam or plywood in between the tank and stand. My stand has exactly the same problem and thats how I made it flush. Running for at least 6 months without any problems now.

Thanks. The instructions said that if the tank was rimmed then nothing needed. I guess they were wrong?

I just filled the stinking thing with 40 gallons and salt. I guess its safe to pump that into a garbage pale I use for RO and fix it and pump the water back into the tank?

Ya put something under it to be safe.

It probably would be fine but better safe than sorry and at 40g it shouldn't be too bad.

Yes safe :)

thanks. what would you suggest I use to put under it?

Thanks all! Will check out the mats. Do you think I should empty the tank now? I will get something tomorrow? Don't want to wake up to a flood :)

Yes as long as you only use the bucket for good water, it's fine
