Gap in overflow nozzle

My overflow nozzles have a gap around them where they exit the overflow. I want to close that gap possibly with like a rubber gasket to prevent fish from sneaking through. Has anyone attempted this before? If so would love to get a link to what material they used. Thanks.

The exit hole in the overflow box is a bit too big.
