I will be doing the assembly, but the glass co. will be drilling the holes. The holes should be a little bigger than the bulkhead size. I guess a better question would be, what size piping, 1", 1 1/4" 1 1/2"??? would I need to get the proper flow rate for my tank to work properly. the display is going to be 5' long, 2' wide and 2' 3" high 170 gal. Also what size should the side pieces of glass, be using 1/2" glass, maybe 22 3/4" or 22 7/8"to get the correct amount of silicon. Or cut the side pieces 23" Is the size of the PVC pipe going to the sump determined by the return pump ?? Thanks Hitman
So the side glass left and right rests on the top of the bottom glass, and the front and back glass glue to the sides of bottom glass?? I'm not sure of the sequence of which glass goes first, but if all sides of the display rest on the top of the bottom glass, the 23" x 59" bottom piece would dictate the overall length of the display at 59" and width at 23"???? As for the euro bracing. I made a mistake on the euro drawing, I described the bracing as 1/2" should be 3". Can the 3" bracing be glued to the top of glass or is it necessary to glue it to the insides of the display. If glued to the top would be a lot easier, would it be the same sq. inches of area of contact weather mounted on the inside or top.??? Please excuse me I'm not trying to be a pain in the rear, This is my first try at this, and I'm retired living in Panama central america living on a fixed income, and the company thats cutting the glass is 250 miles from my house so I need to be absolutely certain of the process!!! This is way more complicated than I though, but as I've already built my steel frame can't stop now LOL Thanks Hitman
OK, so if all glass /front, back and both sides/ sits on top of the bottom piece of glass, shouldn't the bottom glass be 24" x 60"??? Front and back 26 1/2" x 60" and side pieces be 23" x 26 1/2" in order for the display to end up 24" wide x 60"long and 27"high?? Maybe the #reefsquad can advise
Well I'm sure they are available in Panama city, but I'm about 5 hrs. away from there. Besides I want to build the display myself, for the experience and about 1/3 the cost. as aquarium's are not very popular here, I'm told by the locals that they are very expensive as are the fish. The video you sent cleared up any doubts that I had. I'm having my 1/2" glass cut by a glass company. THANK YOU very much for your help.....David
