Hey everyone. I was wondering if garden hose is reef safe? I'm adding a fuge soon and will be plumbing it with flexible hose off my return then flexible hose to gravity feed into the sump. What concerns me is the rubbery stuff the hose is made from and the fabric fibres running through it.
I've had fresh water tanks for years that use tap water from a garden hose with no ill affects, but was thinking with the salt water being so much more abrasive than fresh water it may cause problems.
Any information would be appreciated :)

Also, if it has metal ends, replace them with plastic.

Any hardware store will have the braided reinforced vinyl tubing in bulk cut to any length you want. Some will even have heavy wall black vinyl tubing which is good since it doesn't let light in and resists algae growth inside it. They should also have nylon hose clamps to hold it in place on the barbed nipples, if not, a homebrewing shop will have those.

Thanks guys. Turns out the vinyl hose was considerably cheaper anyway lol. They don't have the selection I wanted, but I should be able to make something work :)
