SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon gardineri

COMMON NAME: Gardiners Butterflyfish

SIZE: 6.6†(17 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 75 US Gal (284 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: The Gardiners Butterflyfish feeds on stony corals, algae, and benthic invertebrates.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: With caution in a tank consisting of soft corals that are more noxious.

CAPTIVE CARE: The Gardiners Butterflyfish is fairly hardy once acclimated, but is usually unavailable in North America. This species should be fed a minimum of twice per day and requires a good growth of algae to browse on throughout the day as well as a variety of preparations for carnivores & herbivores and frozen foods. Only one can be kept per tank and prefer temperatures in the range of 74-82 F (23-28 C)
